FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the gym at MH to do my other sessions in my program that aren't with my coach?

Yes, you absolutely can. However, you must coordinate with your coach when you are coming in. As our staff have different schedules, we need to ensure someone is already there for you to come in and train.

Will I get to meet my coach before my first session?

Yes! After your consultation, your coach will send you a message introducing themselves (if they weren’t in the gym at the time of your consultation). After your consultation, you will have another consult with your coach (at no additional fee) to do your skin folds and review your goals. You will have an information sheet to complete before this consult. Following this, your coach will assemble your training, nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle guides to get you started the following week!

If there is any blood pathology we are waiting on, your coach will do your plans after receiving this. Once your plan is done, we will record a video on Loom (where you will see our faces) explaining everything to you and how it will work. This will include your personalised training program, nutrition plan and supplementation recommendations. We expect you to have many questions early on, so please do not hesitate to reply to that email with any of your questions. There are NO dumb questions regarding this; an open line of communication and trust with your coach is necessary to get the desired result.

What if I have questions outside of my PT Sessions?

If you have questions outside your normal sessions, please message your coach on Facebook Messenger. Please bear in mind our coaches only respond to messages during business hours (9-5 pm, Monday to Friday)

My schedule changes weekly; how will we book my Personal Training Sessions?

Every week all MH clients message their coach via Facebook Messenger ALL their availability for the following week. This is due on FRIDAYS. The coach will coordinate all PT session times and send you your PT times for that week by Sunday at the latest. The more availability you give us, the easier for us to get you in. Each coach has different hours. However, you will be matched with a coach with your available times. Generally, PT sessions are between 6-10 am Mon-Fri, 3-8 pm Mon-Thurs, and sometimes Saturday mornings. Please be mindful that 6 am sessions and 5 pm onwards sessions are PEAK session times. So, if this is the ONLY time you can do it, you may have to go onto the waitlist until a spot comes up. However, the more flexible you have, the easier we can accommodate you.

What happens if I can't make a PT Session?

If you cannot make a session, we require a minimum of 24 hours notice to reschedule. If you cancel your session within the 24 hours before your session, this session will be forfeited; this is the same for no-shows. The more notice you give us that you cannot make a session, the easier it is for us to reschedule you! If your coach is sick or away, you will be trained by another MH coach for that period, so you will always have the option to train and be looked after even if your coach is away!

When am I likely to see and feel results?

This will be different for every person; however, it is worth considering that what has led to your current situation has likely accumulated over many years. So naturally, it’s not something that can be turned around in days or weeks. We can significantly improve symptoms in a few weeks; however, depending on your history and issues, it could be much longer.

How do you choose the foods in my plan?

We choose the foods in your plan based on several factors. However, the goal is to eat foods that will improve health. The foods you previously have been eating, the foods you listed you wanted to eat in your information sheet, the foods your body requires based on the information you gave us, and/or what your blood work analysis says. For example, if your blood tests show lower T4 and T3 production (thyroid function), you have a deficiency in both iodine and selenium. So we may include fish and Brazil nuts in your plan to get you the daily dose of these nutrients. If you indicated in your information sheet you suffer from bad PMS, we might include foods higher in magnesium and B6. And if you indicated you suffer from a lot of gut issues, we will give you foods that have been shown to improve the diversity of the gut microbiome.

Will I receive recipes for all of my meals?

No. We are not chefs. We are nutritionists. And you have hired us to get you a very specific result. We will recommend the foods for each meal, and it is up to you how you would like to eat that meal (stir-fry, curries, etc). You can access our MH recipe book, which contains recipes with calories and macros. However, we recommend only utilising this once you become confident with the flexible dieting approach. Please note: if you have had a big history of gut and hormonal issues and we need to place you on a specific dieting protocol to rectify this, some of these recipes may be off-limits to you. If this is the case for you, it is best to wait until you are in a position to be more flexible.

Is there a minimum term?

Yes, there is a 16-week minimum sign-up term. Following this, your coaching will continue, if you want to cancel your coaching at any time after the 16 weeks, you can do so by emailing hello@mhperformancecoaching.com with two weeks’ notice. If you want to cancel within the 16 weeks, you can pay out the remainder of the 16-week program.

How can I get the most out of my sessions?

We aim to create a positive personal training experience to maximise client performance. This is done by ensuring that we give our clients purposeful training sessions. This means that on all training days, you will enjoy a well-planned exercise session consisting of a relevant combination of functional training, weight training, mobility training, resistance training and strength training.

Where are sessions conducted?

Our personal training location is from our gym facility in Wangara and Myaree. Our personal training studio is predominantly used to train our female clients.
